I hate to admit it, but sometimes we think about leaving California. Ooooh, but where would we go? Oregon maybe? Part of me just wants a good hunk of land to call my own, and it would definitely need to be in a climate where I could still have a decent garden. And where I wouldn’t have to shovel too much snow (I could handle a little). But then I remember that I kind of really like the ocean, so it would still need to be close by. I wouldn’t mind just moving north, getting away from the hustle of LA and OC, and going anywhere above Santa Barbara maybe.
But then there are days like today, where it’s a sunny, breezy, 80 degrees outside on the first (second?) official day of summer. And I have sessions like this one, where we’re standing in the ocean, literally, and shooting as the sun sets. How on earth could there be somewhere more perfect than this?
This whole session was pretty much all I could ever ask or hope for. I drove down Balboa with Sean and left him to wander around and get some work done. I met up with Brittany and Brandon and we wandered through around the fun zone, out to the docks, and the over to the sand and water of beautiful Corona Del Mar, where we were treated with one of the most beautiful Southern California sunsets I’d seen in awhile. I swooped up my other half who had then been wandering the beach soaking up with sun, and we had dinner together at a tiny little café where we sat next to some out-of-towners sharing a first date. (you might think that last part is trivial, but I’m top-notch people-watcher and first class eavesdropper, so it just was the perfect ending to the night). So all in all, it was a very good day. How could we possibly leave this very perfect place and this very perfect life?
